The Client
A leading US manufacturer of commercial HVAC systems with decades of experience serving commercial and industrial customers. Although the company was known for producing reliable products, its service operations relied on outdated systems that limited efficiency and visibility across the business.
The Problem
The client’s manufacturing, inventory, sales, and field service data were spread across multiple legacy systems that did not communicate with each other. This made it difficult to monitor equipment performance, plan maintenance, and respond to service requests efficiently.
As a result, maintenance remained largely reactive. Equipment failures often led to emergency service calls, increased downtime for customers, higher maintenance costs, and delays in resolving service issues. Field technicians also lacked complete service history and real-time insights, making troubleshooting slower and reducing first-time resolution rates.
These operational inefficiencies affected customer satisfaction, increased operating costs, and limited the company’s ability to scale its after-sales service operations. Over time, the inconsistent service experience also impacted their sales.
After exploring multiple approaches without achieving the desired results, the client partnered with Genesis NGN to develop an AI-powered predictive maintenance solution.
The Research
Genesis NGN worked closely with the client’s operations and service teams to understand their existing workflows and identify operational gaps.
The research showed that valuable equipment and maintenance data already existed but was scattered across different systems. Without centralized data and predictive analytics, maintenance decisions were based on fixed schedules instead of actual equipment conditions. This often resulted in unnecessary servicing or delayed repairs.
These findings helped define a solution focused on predictive maintenance, connected data, and smarter service operations.
The Solution
Based on the findings, the Genesis NGN team developed an AI-powered Predictive Maintenance Platform that combines historical maintenance records with real-time equipment data to help the client make faster and more informed maintenance decisions.
The platform uses AI to identify potential equipment issues before they result in failures, enabling the client to schedule maintenance proactively, reduce unexpected downtime, and improve service planning. Manufacturing, inventory, and field service data were also integrated into a centralized platform, providing teams with a single source of accurate, real-time information.
As a part of this AI platform and to further improve service operations, Genesis NGN also developed a mobile application for field technicians. The app provides instant access to equipment history, AI-powered maintenance recommendations, service records, and real-time updates, enabling technicians to diagnose issues faster, complete jobs more efficiently, and deliver a better customer service experience.
